About

What is the California Mind-Full Film Festival?

A film festival that showcases themes of mental health, created and curated by a therapist.

Misa is a marriage and family therapist practicing in california who is also deeply passionate about independent film, screenwriting, and filmmaking.

She wrote and produced the short comedy film “mimi goes to rehab,” which premiered at the mental health warrior film festival in madison, wisconsin in may 2024.

The film continued its festival run that year, earning a nomination for best screenplay at the seattle film festival and winning best comedy short at the northeast film festival in new jersey.

Film is a powerful force that can unite people, especially those struggling with mental health challenges and those seeking to better understand them.

Film gives a voice to individuals who might otherwise go unheard.

This film festival showcases and celebrates films that address mental illness and stories created by writers, directors, or producers who are champions with lived experience of mental health struggles.
